My ear worm for the weekend has been Taylor’s latest single, Bad Blood.
While Taylor and her posse have been nunchucking and falling through sheet glass in stilettos and leather as an outlet for their emotions, I’ve taken a less aggressive approach in my journey to emotional clarity. I’ve tackled the mountains of junk in the spare room and am feeling like a new, clearer headed woman for doing it. Cartons have been compacted for recycling, fancy kitchen gadgets I have no hope of ever using this decade have been gathered for the St Vinnies bin and I’ve been running down the stockpiles of consumables by eating and drinking them. Except for the Moet. All of that’s coming with me to the new place where it will be chilled in the new fridge I am yet to find.
We had dinner with my brother and sister law on Friday. Life has been so hectic for all of us the last few months so it was wonderful to catch up in person over a meal that some other lovely people prepared and served us. We’re at the business end of the countdown to my auntydom. I’m going to be a new aunty twice over this August as my other brother and his wife are also expecting a little one in Perth.
Given that it’s been years since I last had hands on experience with a newborn (and none of that actually went according to the books), I’ve not been the greatest sister in law with actual baby advice on the key areas of sleep and feeding.
But I do intend on volunteering my other skills. I am a very productive batch cooker of meals that freeze well and I also have a knack of being able to able to take a baby anywhere in a pram (preferably to a cafe) and getting them to sleep for at least an hour.
Aldi trolleys. Made to withstand weights of at least 28 kilograms. |
Our local Aldi was the place to be at 8.33am on Saturday. It was Home Fitness Saturday and we collectively descended upon the fitness equipment like a pack of polite and discerning vultures. That’s probably a contradiction in terms but it was the busiest section of the store as people tested out weights, tried to find their size in sports gear or tried to fit a rowing machine into their trolleys.
How’s your Aldi on Home Fitness Saturdays?
