I love watching the Olympic opening ceremonies. It’s the scale, the colour, watching the countries in the athletes’ parade. The ceremonies all have a uniform feel, I guess because they are all performances geared for large crowds in large arenas.
I had a catch in my throat when Australia entered the arena. The atmosphere was already charged in view of the Georgian athlete who died during a training run.
Here’s my little bit of ‘the Games’.
Maple syrup with my toast this morning. And a photo of me snow shoe-ing in Aspen last year.
