Slow cooker Sunday, raindrops on leaves – is it really summer in Sydney?

What a wet and miserable weekend in Sydney.  I took advantage of one of the fine breaks of the day to go for a run, felt great to be out in the fresh air.  I love that scent when it’s just rained.

The creek where I run is usually barely a trickle of water.  This morning it was comparatively bursting at the banks.
It’s Sunday, it’s a go slow weekend.  What better way to explore this them then to get out my slow cooker to make one of my favourite childhood meals.  Japanese golden curry.  I first ate it at Mr Samurai, a Japanese fast food institution in Perth.  Perfect for this weather and the slow cooker always makes sure the beef is tender.  I love that slow cookers transform the cheapest cuts of meat into healthy, flavoursome meals.  Today I was going all out, I browned the meat before starting the slow cooker.  The house is now fragrant with the smell of a good dinner.

The routines of the weekend that help me feel rested for the week ahead.
